Here’s a look as to what I was loving during the holiday season!
Starting with a new palette!
I received the Bobbi Brown Hot Cocoa Palette for Christmas and I’ve used it nearly everyday since! This is a perfect go-to/travel palette with several matte and shimmer neutral colors to create several different looks. I always use champagne and bronze colors in my eye palettes the most so I’m excited to have some new choices!
Next, on to two lip favorites. The Maybelline Color Sensational Lipstick in Maple Kiss is a peachy- nude lipstick with a glossy finish. The warmer peach undertone gives this nude shade a more natural look compared to the stark brown shades I was wearing this fall (aka Touch if Spice). This formula is also super moisturizing so I tend to reapply it like a lip balm throughout the day. My second favorite is the Kat Von D liquid lipstick in Lolita. This color is a nude mauve that applies like a gloss but dries matte almost instantly. This retails for about $20 but luckily I found this at Marshalls for $7.99! I’m not sure if its an older version but regardless I’m totally happy with it! I love this formula and will be on the look out at Marshalls to find more!
The Too Faced Shadow Insurance in Champagne has become my new eyeshadow base for my everyday work makeup. It is a light pink champagne color and I typically apply it all over my lid then follow up with a taupe shadow in my crease and call it a day. This color stand so well on its own that it makes it look like I put a lot more effort into my makeup on days when I’m pressed for time. When it comes to eyebrows I’ve been an avid fan of the It Cosmetics brow power for nearly a yearly. But, when I was running low I decided to make the switch to the Anastasia Brow Wiz in Dark Brown. What I like better about the Brow Wiz is the fine tip of this pencil that makes it a bit easily to add hair like strokes of color to even out my brows.
I’m super late in the game on trying out MAC’s Fix + setting spray but that is mostly because I never really saw the need for setting sprays in the past (hence why I only got the travel size!). I instantly liked how once I applied this it left a cooling, refreshing feeling on my face that made me happy use the product everyday. Within the first week I noticed how much longer my face makeup lasted throughout the day. I was really sold when I had an 8 AM flight over the holidays and my makeup looked flawless well into the evening despite me sleeping on my hand for three hours that morning!
That wraps up my end of the year favorites. Can’t wait to find out what’s in store for 2015!
